Yamamoto keeps a white cat. Its name is "Yuki." One morning, when he woke up, Yuki was gone. He searched everywhere in the house, but couldn't find her.

Yamamoto got very worried. "She might have gone outside." He quickly put on his shoes and started searching the neighborhood. Walking down the street, he called "Yuki! Yuki!" but the cat didn't come.

次 の日 の夕方 、知 らない人 から電話 がありました。「張 り紙 を見 ました。公園 で白 い猫 を見 かけましたよ。写真 の猫 にそっくりでした。」山本 さんは「ありがとうございます！」と言 って、すぐに公園 に走 りました。

The next evening, a stranger phoned. "I saw your notice. I spotted a white cat in the park. It looked just like the cat in the photo." Yamamoto said, "Thank you so much!" and ran straight to the park.
公園 に着 いて、あちこち探 しました。ベンチの下 、木 の後 ろ、花 の近 く。そしてとうとう 、茂 みの中 で小 さな白 い猫 を見 つけました。「ゆき！」と呼 ぶと、ゆきは「にゃあ」と鳴 いて走 ってきました。

He arrived at the park and searched all over. Under the bench, behind the trees, near the flowers. And at last, in a thicket, he found a small white cat. When he called "Yuki!" she meowed and came running.

Picking Yuki up, Yamamoto almost cried. After getting home, he shut the window tight. "Don't make me worry like that again." Yuki, with a face that seemed to understand nothing, purred contentedly.
