passive voice — something is done to the subject / the subject is affected by someone's action
verb passive stem + (ら)れる (u-verbs: -れる; ru-verbs: -られる)

〜てくれる
someone does ~ for me / us (a kindness coming my way)
verb て-form + くれる
先生 が漢字 の読 み方 を教 えてくれました。
The teacher taught me how to read the kanji.
〜ので
because ~ / since ~ (a reason — softer and more objective-sounding than から)
plain form + ので （な-adj／noun + な + ので）

〜たことがある
have done ~ before / has the experience of ~ing (also used negatively: 〜たことがない = have never done ~)
