The narrator goes to the bank to open a new account — talking to the clerk at the counter, showing ID and a seal, and asking how to fill in the forms. 先週せんしゅう、私わたしは新あたらしい銀行ぎんこうの口座こうざを作つくりに行いきました。銀行ぎんこうに着ついてから、窓口まどぐちで「口座こうざを作つくりたいです」と係かかりの人ひとに言いいました。

Last week, I went to open a new bank account. After arriving at the bank, I told the clerk at the counter, "I'd like to open an account."

係かかりの人ひとが必要ひつような書類しょるいを出だしてくれました。そして、身分証明書みぶんしょうめいしょと印鑑いんかんを確認かくにんしてもらいました。

The clerk brought out the necessary documents. Then I had them check my ID and my seal.

書類しょるいには、名前なまえや住所じゅうしょを記入きにゅうします。私わたしは書かき方かたがよく分わからなかったので、「ここの書かき方かたを教おしえていただけませんか」と聞ききました。

On the documents, you fill in things like your name and address. I didn't really understand how to write it, so I asked, "Could you please show me how to fill in this part?"

係かかりの人ひとは「ここに暗証番号あんしょうばんごうを書かくと、キャッシュカードが作つくれます」と説明せつめいしてくれました。ボタンを押おすと、番号ばんごうを登録とうろくできました。

The clerk explained, "When you write your PIN here, we can make a cash card." When I pressed the button, I was able to register the number.

私わたしは自分じぶんで残のこりの書類しょるいに記入きにゅうしてみました。少すこし難むずかしかったですが、係かかりの人ひとが横よこで手伝てつだってくれました。

I tried filling in the rest of the documents by myself. It was a little difficult, but the clerk helped me from beside me.

最後さいごに、係かかりの人ひとが新あたらしい通帳つうちょうをくれました。「暗証番号あんしょうばんごうは忘わすれないように、通帳つうちょうは大切たいせつにしたほうがいいですよ」と言いいました。こうして、私わたしは無事ぶじに口座こうざを作つくることができました。

Finally, the clerk gave me a new bankbook. "Be careful not to forget your PIN, and you'd better keep your bankbook somewhere safe," they said. And so, I was able to open my account without any trouble.
