The narrator's old shoes are worn, so they go to a shoe store: the old ones are old and dirty, when they entered a clerk came, the clerk measured their foot size, one design was a bit too big, smaller-fitting is better than tight, and though the design was nice the price was high. Recycles known N4 grammar with shoe-store vocabulary. Patterns: 〜し, 〜たら, 〜てくれる, 〜すぎる, 〜方がいい, 〜のに.
