N4 consolidation story #223. The narrator visits a real estate agency to look for a new apartment. They talk with the clerk about rent, location, the floor plan, the deposit and key money, and the commute, then decide to go view a place. Recycles known N4 grammar with everyday apartment-hunting vocab. Patterns: 〜うちに, 〜みたいに, 〜そうだ(伝聞), 〜出す, 〜ばかり, 〜ので.

Thinking I'd look for a new apartment, I went to a real estate agency near the station. I wanted to decide while cheap rooms still remained.

店員てんいんさんに希望きぼうを伝つたえると、すぐに間取りまどりを見みせてくれた。「この部屋へやは駅えきから徒歩とほ五ご分ふんで、とても静しずかだそうです」と言いった。

訳 English

When I told the clerk my preferences, they immediately showed me a floor plan. 'This apartment is a five-minute walk from the station, and I hear it's very quiet,' they said.

その部屋へやは前まえに住すんでいた部屋へやみたいに狭せまくなくて、家具かぐを置おく場所ばしょも十分じゅうぶんありそうだった。家賃やちんも思おもったより安やすかった。

訳 English

That room wasn't cramped like the place I'd lived in before, and there seemed to be plenty of space to put furniture. The rent was also cheaper than I'd expected.

私わたしは敷金しききんや礼金れいきん、契約けいやくのことを聞きき出だした。店員てんいんさんは「敷金しききんは一いっか月分げつぶん、礼金れいきんは無なしです」と答こたえてくれた。

訳 English

I started asking about the deposit, the key money, and the contract. The clerk answered, 'The deposit is one month's worth, and there's no key money.'

実じつは今いまの部屋へやに引ひっ越こしたばかりなのに、また引ひっ越こすのは大変たいへんだ。でも家賃やちんが安やすくて間取りまどりも良いいので、まず内見ないけんを予約よやくすることにした。

訳 English

In fact, I only just moved into my current place, so moving again is tough. But because the rent is cheap and the floor plan is good, I decided to first book a viewing.
