N3 consolidation story #59. The narrator volunteers to clean a river every weekend: as time passes more people gather, and although it's hard the feeling afterward is great. The cleaned river looks as if it were a different place. Their own effort is no more than a tiny part of the whole, but they feel they can't help but keep going for the sake of the environment. Recycles introduced N3 grammar with everyday vocabulary. Patterns: 〜たびに, 〜にしたがって, 〜ものの, 〜かのようだ, 〜にすぎない, 〜ざるをえない.
