N4 consolidation story #87. The narrator goes to a bookstore to find a novel a friend recommended. They search the shelves, find it's sold out, and order a copy to pick up next week. Recycles known N4 grammar and bookstore vocabulary. Patterns: 〜という, 〜たり〜たり, 〜てある, 〜はず, 〜かもしれない, 〜つもり.

Grammar

〜という

called ~; named ~

名詞＋という＋名詞

「夏なつ」という店みせ。

A shop called "Natsu."

〜たり〜たり

do things like ~ and ~ (representative actions)

動詞た形＋り＋ ... ＋り＋する

歌うたったり踊おどったりする。

We do things like singing and dancing.

〜てある

has been done ~ (resulting state, done on purpose)

他動詞て形＋ある

窓まどが開あけてある。

The window has been opened (and left open).

〜はず

should ~; is supposed to ~ (logical expectation)

普通形（な形＋な／名詞＋の）＋はず

彼かれは来くるはずだ。

He should be coming.

〜かもしれない

might ~; maybe ~
